The company was founded in 1922 by G. H. Austin, the Grandfather and Great-grandfather of the current owners Mr Brian Austin, Neil Austin and Richard Austin.
The coach business started from what was originally a coal merchanting operation. At weekends the coach was cleaned, furnished with seats and then used for day trips. All of our coaches acquired since 1922 have been given consecutive numbers, our latest coach number being 218.
Happy Days was one of the very first coach companies to operate coach holidays into Europe after the second world war. We have now carried over 20 million passengers throughout Europe.
